The mastermind behind Silent Hill is set to unveil their latest project in November. Fans of the horror genre have much to rejoice about as Summer Game Fest 2024 has revealed exciting new insights about Slitterhead, a forthcoming horror adventure crafted by Keiichiro Toyama.
Birthed by Toyama’s Bokeh Game Studio, an independent entity, Slitterhead presents itself as an eagerly awaited concoction that promises to satisfy the cravings of horror fans. The initial gameplay footage tantalizes with its display of grotesquely transformed beings, offering a glimpse into the game's battle mechanics. The showcased combat intricacies appear to lean heavily towards evasion and counterattack maneuvers, with snippets also hinting at the inclusion of ranged weaponry, hinting at a versatile approach to combat scenarios.
Additional footage reveals the player navigating a visually striking urban environment, marked by dilapidated establishments and towering structures, heavily reminiscent of Hong Kong in the 1990s.
Further intrigue is added by introducing a possible possession feature within the game, illustrated by a red-eyed figure, presumably the lead character, assuming control of various city dwellers to combat the monstrous threats that loom in the trailer. The trailer itself invites viewers to form their own impressions.
Rounding off the announcement, the trailer concludes with the revelation of the game’s launch date, set for November 8, 2024. It confirms availability on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms.
