The competitive landscape of League of Legends continues to evolve, prompting teams to make significant changes in hopes of better performance. This year’s World Championship illuminated the persistent difficulties faced by Western teams, with only FlyQuest advancing to the Knockout Stage while counterparts from the EMEA region were unable to progress.

Aiming for improvement and to enhance their chances for the 2025 season, Fnatic has opted to make a notable change in its coaching staff. Fnatic has announced the departure of head coach Tomáš Kněžínek, widely recognized by his gaming alias. His time with the organization featured a mix of triumphs and challenges, highlighted by a championship win in the LEC Spring split and multiple second-place finishes. In reflecting on this coaching transition, Fnatic acknowledged the significant impact Kněžínek had during a difficult phase.

After finishing in 9th place during the 2023 Winter Split, he played a crucial role in revitalizing the roster, which ultimately enabled them to qualify for the World Championship and reach three LEC split finals in 2024. Despite these achievements, the team expressed that they fell short of claiming an LEC trophy. As a result, after their run at Worlds in 2024, Fnatic has determined that a new direction is needed, alongside other staffing adjustments anticipated for their operations in Berlin, with more details to be unveiled soon. At this stage, it remains uncertain who will take over the coaching responsibilities previously held by Kněžínek.
